About Johannes
Born in Stockholm to German parents in 1956, Johannes has lived most of his life in Britain. He grew up in a Camphill Community and was educated in Wynstones Steiner School.
On completing a Foundation Course in Cheltenham, Johannes did a BA in sculpture at Winchester College of Art and Design between 1975 and 1978.
He has travelled extensively in Europe the Middle East, America and India. In 1984 Johannes settled in the Cotswolds and trained in Stained Glass with Edward Payne, a renowned local artist and one of the last living links with Arts and Crafts Movement.
Johannes was one of the original ‘crew’ at Ruskin Mill Further Education College in Nailsworth and ran the garden at Cotswold Chine Home School for children with learning difficulties.
Between 1996 and 2010, Johannes taught art, craft, and humanities at the Acorn School in Nailsworth. In 2015, he took an MS in special education. Johannes is an experienced teacher and is currently running Stained Glass and Mosaic Workshops in Stroud Pottery located in the Centre for Science and Art building.
