Community Art is another on-going aspect of my artistic activity. It could be defined as; 'Art projects' commissioned by a community, made by members of that community and facilitated by me. Community in this sense means school, town, institution or organisation. The projects are facilitated from their inception as an 'idea', to their realization as a 'thing'.
These two sculptures (representing fire and water) were created to celebrate the 60 years of the Schools life. They were placed in the 'Sensory Garden', outside Thorn Hall. This is a specially designed space with a water feature and plants that are scented and brightly coloured.
Craft workshop Window, 2012-2013
This lancet window of triple-laminated glass in four sections was commissioned by the Nailsworth community craft workshop with funding that included Ruskin Mill.
This is a laminated window in five sections. It was designed and made by Craft Tutors in Camphill Scotland and facilitated by me. The coloured glass has been glued onto a defusing backing plate and contains one large agate slice.
